NGC, Airtel begins hunt for ‘Young Explorer’

National Geographic Channel (NGC) has begun a talent hunt for the “Young Explorer”.
The drive, targeting more than 60,000 children aged between 10-14 years, will be conducted in association with Bharti Airtel across 120 schools in Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. In addition, there will also be online test available for students, which cannot be covered through on ground channel. The entire initiative is a combination of fun games, puzzles and brain tickling trail hunts, where the participants will need to clear various levels before they proceed forth.

UTV Television, which is completing 20 years of operations this year, is in a revival mode.
After losing share to other production houses, the company is again firming up its fiction and non-fiction properties.

Times Television Network to beef up offering with English movie channel Mango

The Reliance ADAG-CBS JV will be launching a GEC Big CBS Prime, Big CBS Spark for the youth, and the women-centric Big CBS Love.
Now, there are talks about Times Television Network’s plans to expand its channel bouquet with a new English movie channel, named Mango.

“3 Idiots” rakes highest TVR in 8 years

3 idiots continue the cash-registers ringing for small screen as well.
The movie starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan has raked an average TVR of 10.9, the highest for any movie shown on TV in the past eight years. It has also way-past all top-rated shows including Pavitra Rishta (5.7) on Zee TV which was the closest rival.
