Sanjeev Kapoor Launches Hindi Food Channel FOODFOOD

Celebrity Chef, Sanjeev Kapoor has finally announced the launch of his food channel named FOODFOOD. The channel is launched by the Joint Venture between Astro All Asia Networks (Astro), Malaysia’s leading cross-media group and Turmeric Vision Pvt Ltd (TVPL), the television company owned by Sanjeev Kapoor and his wife Alyona Kapoor. The JV between the two companies marks the entry of Astro in the Indian media broadcasting industry. With the concept of Cooking+ Food +Food-lifestyle, the TV channel is scheduled to go on-air in early 2011. It will feature, for the very first time, Hinglish content that will be produced and packaged in India, making the shows relevant to the Indian audience. In order to connect to their audience in India, FOODFOOD will feature shows about food and food lifestyle like ‘Sanjeev Kapoor’s Kitchen’, ‘Firangi Tadka’, ‘Sirf 30 Minute’ and Ready Steady Cook. Prominent personalities form the entertainment and food industry such as Chef Chinu, Chef Harpal, Chef Rakesh Sethi, and more will feature as part of the varied offerings on the channel. FoodFood is also the first Indian channel that’s entirely shot in high definition.

Kerala based Mangalam Group to launch TV channel

The group will launch a news and entertainment television channel in the next six months. Mangalam Group of Publications, which publishes 10 titles, plans to foray into the electronic media space. The group plans to launch a news and entertainment channel by mid-2011.
The first channel by the group will be called Mangalam and will be in Malayalam. According to a senior company official, the publishing division, which has an annual turnover of Rs 60 crore, will start the channel with an initial investment of Rs 50 crore.

SAB TV to double its investments

SAB TV will launch a weekly detective comedy series, Jaankhilavan Jasoos from November 19.
SAB TV, the family comedy entertainment channel from the MSM network plans to increase its original content programming, as well as its investment in marketing and distribution.

NDTV launches 3 channels in Australia in distribution pact with FetchTV

Expanding its portfolio in the international market, NDTV has entered into a distribution arrangement with FetchTV, a subscription TV provider to leading Australian ISPs, to launch NDTV 24x7, NDTV India and NDTV Good Times in Australia.
As part of the agreement, NDTV 24x7 will be available to all FetchTV subscribers along with channels like CNBC Australia, BBC World News, Fox Sports News and other international news channels. NDTV India and NDTV Good Times will be available along with the bouquet of all other Indian channels.

Nat Geo launches three channels in Australia

National Geographic Channel (NGC) has launched three new channels in Australia - Nat Geo Wild HD, National Geographic Channel +2 and Nat Geo Adventure +2.
NGC Australia MD Karin Simoncini said that the aim is to give viewers in each time zone across Australia more choices to watch their favourite shows when they want to.
