Dish TV introduces recharge through IMPS

Dish TV India, the direct to home television service provider has launched Interbank Mobile Payment Service (IMPS) based recharge option. It will take place through National payment corporations of India (NPCI) which handles retail payments in India and has been formed by Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banks Association (IBA). The new option will allow 13.5 million subscribers a new convenient option for recharging their Dish TV accounts anywhere.
The IMPS service can be utilized by the consumers through four platforms – Mobile Applications, Short Message Service, Dish TV website and Interactive voice response (IVR). The consumers just have to feed in the required information and their existing account will be recharged right away. Salil Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer, Dish TV, said, “As a pioneer and market leader of the DTH Industry we strongly believe that the future is all about technology based secure and convenient payment options. And IMPS clearly has the potential to change the retail payment ecosystem. As a 13.5 million strong family, our current focus is to bring novel recharge solution for our valued customers.”
