GSM, CDMA bodies petition TDSAT against TRAI, on the issue of getting customer confirmation on VAS

The GSM and CDMA Telecom operators have filed a petition against TRAI in the TDSAT for its order on the issue of provision of value-added-services (VAS) to their customers.
The TRAI order was about the telecom companies taking confirmation from their customers at the time of activation of value added services (VAS).
The order said the customers should be charged only after confirmation was received from them. If there is no confirmation, the service should be discontinued. At the time of renewal of service also, the service provider should inform the customer about the renewal also. The counsels for the GSM and CDMA Telecom operators associations have said the same issue is untenable and unjust.
