ITV Network ropes in RK Arora as CEO

ITV Network has appointed RK Arora as the Chief Executive officer for its broadcasting initiatives. This comes in the wake of the ITV network’s aggressive market strategy, including its recent entry into the English news television business through acquisition of national English news channel News X and new look of India News at a national level. 
Arora comes with a proven track record and wide experience spanning over 20 years and would be responsible for business operations of Hindi news channel India News, five regional channels and English news channel News X. He would be leading the Group’s expansion plans and provide the vision and strategic leadership for all aspects of the business, said an official release. 

“I am delighted to join ITV Network, which has variety of genres vis. Hindi, English and regional news channels. With my grip on the media industry and distribution including technology implications, I am looking forward to enhance the channel’s market share across the board and also augment channel’s revenue with fresh strategies and ideas. The vision is to set the agenda for an integrated media network with each of our brands excelling in performance across all parameters,” said Arora. 
Prior to joining ITV Network, Arora was the CEO of BAG Network where he led business operations of broadcasting initiatives – News 24, E24 and Dress 24. He was also associated with Independent News Service since its inception which launched India TV in 2004. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he was CFO and Executive Director of the company. Commenting on Arora’s new innings, Karaoke Sharma, MD, ITV network said, “We are going through exciting times in the media industry, wherein due to digitisation the entire business diaspora is changing and Arora’s rich experience and leadership is well set to steer the Group to great heights.” 
Talking to exchange4media about upcoming plans of ITV, Arora shared, “We are planning to launch India News MP and Chhattisgarh on November 10. In December, we have targeted to revamp News X in every manner.”
