Cable Operator killed in Shivpur (Indrapur) in Varanasi, UP

Mandatory Digitalisation in Cable TV business has its negative side too. The second phase cities where the big MSO are yet to create their strong hold are seeing a renewed battle for supremacy in the localities. Like it happened in the early days of Cable TV evolution in the country, MSOs are engaging in all kind of battles to get an upper hand in these TAM cities where their supporting broadcasters would get a higher viewership.
The victim Pushkar Shukla a 37 year old cable operator was killed after an argument with his rival Cable Operator on cable cutting to disrupt his business They killed Pushkar beating him with iron rods and hockey sticks. The relatives who came to help him were also beaten up. Pushkar’s brother came for a help but was unable to do so as goons started beating him too. Pushkar Shukla was a cable operator of Indrapur. Pushkar lines in Indrapur area and some area of Shivpur. Shivpur police station has loged an FIR under section 302,307 and other Acts. Bunty Singh, Rahul Srivastava, Laddu, Saltu singh and some unknown assailants have been named in the FIR lodged by Pushkar’s brother. Complaint has also been lodged against Dharmender Singh Dinu who is the managing director of Den Kashi cable MSO, who is alleged to have masterminded behind the murder.
Pushkar was a franchise of Siti Cable. He was a young cable operator in Shivpur in Varanasi. Both Cable networks were competing in the areas of Shivpur.
