Manish Tewari Says Digitisation On Track

With loads of challenges and delays that had come in the way of Phase I of cable TV digitisation, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) is confident of meeting the March 31, 2013 deadline for completion of Phase II in 38 cities across the country.
The second phase of digitisation covers the one million plus cities, including Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad and Thane, among others. The four metros – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai – were part of the first phase of digitisation.

Speaking at IAA Leadership Awards in Mumbai on 2 February 2013 Manish Tewari, Union Minister of State, Information and Broadcasting elaborates on lessons learnt from Phase I and the progress of Phase II. He also points out the need for the industry to be together in this process.
