Russian IPTV provider using Moto multi-room gear

Russian IPTV provider VimpelCom has sought out Motorola--currently in the throes of being sold by Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) to Arris (Nasdaq: ARRS)--to help its Beeline TV service subscribers better manage their home networking needs. 

To facilitate this, VimpelCom has installed Motorola's VAP2400 HD wireless video bridge device to work with its HDTV IP set-top box and stream HD video over Wi-Fi. 

This new set-top box and wireless bridge solution makes this possible and is very easy for customers to install. The VAP2400 also allows us to introduce a host of new IPTV services in a cost-effective way," Lavrinenko continued. 

Sean Kitchingham, Motorola's senior director of sales for Northern and Central Europe, conceded that just delivering video to the home is no longer enough--even in emerging markets like Russia. 

"We know that multi-room TV services are important to TV subscribers and so this game-changing innovation removes a lot of the cost and complexity associated with delivering a great viewing experience everywhere," Kitchingham said in the story. 

"We are committed to giving our subscribers the very best TV viewing experience possible--without the need for complicated instructions, cumbersome hardware and lots of wires," Lavrinenko said.
