Journalists condemn privilege motions against two channels

Mumbai Press Club, TV Journalists Association (TVJA) and Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh condemned the move by both houses of Maharashtra Legislature admitting privilege motions against two senior journalists.
The privilege motion against the two scribes Nikhil Wagle, chief editor of IBN Lokmat, and Raju Khandekar, Chief Editor of ABP Majha pertains to the coverage of the recent assault on a police officer in the premises of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly by half a dozen legislators led by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Ram Kadam.

The Mumbai Press Club, TV Journalists Association and Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh said in a statement here that the two senior journalists were merely doing their duty in reporting the action by a group of MLAs of assaulting a police officer in the Assembly premises for having given a traffic ticket to an MLA Kshitij Thakur.
