Cable Digitisation Chaos takes ugly turn

According to I&B Ministry Indore has successfully seeded 102.29% STBs. However on ground in areas not seeded with STBs yet. Cable operators are busy cutting the cable lines in a desperate attempt to increase their coverage. This has resulted in a lot of disappointed customers who have opted to do away with their cable connections and have switched to DTH Connections.
It is believed that DTH operators have gained more than 60000 connections out of the 4.5 lakh connections in the city.

Alok Singh, cities ADM said, "We have imposed section 144 of CrPC in the city so as to keep a tab on cable cutting. Also, we have asked the cable operators to provide dress to their staff so as one can easily identify those involved in cable cutting."
This law and order situation was already anticipated as regulations do not provide a level playing field.
Karnataka faces a different kind of situation. Cases of free STB distribution has come to light by political parties who are trying to lure the voters in Mysore, Karnataka.
Deputy Commissioner C Shikha has asked the public to complaint the district administration in case they come across cases of distribution of free set top boxes for cable TV as this is a clear case of violation of poll code”.
Case will be filed against the operators who indulge in this act and encouraged the public to lodge complaint at district control room 1077 or at 2423800.
