NHK WORLD TV joins Virgin Media in UK

Japan International Broadcasting (JIB) has signed a deal with Virgin Media to bring its NHK WORLD TV channel to select customers of the UK cable TV service.
The 24-hour channel is designed to provide an English-language television service for viewers all over the world, offering news and a wide variety of programming fr0m Japan, Asia and the rest of the world.

NHK WORLD is the overseas wing of NHK providing TV, radio and Internet services, and Virgin Media will now have full use of NHK’s global network with the NEWSLINE programme offering updates every hour of the latest hard news, covering world events and business-related news.
Other popular programmes include J-MELO, which highlights the latest Japanese music of all genres ranging fr0m pop and rock to jazz and classical, as well as Dining with the Chef, which introduces the worldview and attraction of Japanese cuisine.
