For Music Channel also get relief on ad cap implementation

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal has passed a stay on the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s 12 minute ad cap rule for four independent music channels/networks after they appealed to the tribunal.
The four channels include Mtunes, Masti, B4U and the 9X Network. The tribunal has informed that it will hear the case on 21 October and until then, these four networks/channels are not obliged to follow the ad cap mandated by TRAI.

A source from the media, who wished to remain unnamed said, “A While back, the four channels/networks wrote to the TDSAT and put forward their argument regarding the 10+2 ad cap implementation and the difficulties it would pose for them. The tribunal informed today that it will hear the case on 21 October and till then, these channels are exempt from the 10+2 ad cap.”
Earlier, in August, The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has approached TDSAT regarding this issue and the tribunal said that it will hear the case on 11 November and till then, the members of the NBA are exempt from the 12 minute ad cap.
