Sachin’s last Test gets best TV rating in 8 years

Sachin Tendulkar's last outing on the cricket pitch at the Wankhede clocked the highest television rating for any Test match in eight years.
The match garnered more than 17 lakh television viewership in thousands (TVTs) during the course of three days, claimed Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the Test series, quoting numbers from TAM, an agency which tracks television viewership ratings.

TVTs represent the average number of individuals in thousands that are watching a programme at any given minute or day part. It takes into account audiences above four years of age across all cable & satellite (C&S) homes.
Media planners said, in keeping with the heightened interest in the match, the viewership was more than 100% higher than an average Test match would have recorded. The master blaster hung his boots after an illustrious 24-year-long career at his home ground amid teary eyed fans.
The Test match that clocked the second highest average TVTs during the past eight years was the fourth Test between India and Australia played this year, the sports broadcaster said.
