Al Jazeera considers Digiturk bid

Broadcaster Al Jazeera is considering a bid for a majority stake in Turkish digital pay-TV operator Digiturk, according to a Reuters report, citing three banking sources.
Al Jazeera has reportedly appointed Barclays Capital to advise on the matter, which could see Digiturk sold for $1 billion.

A formal bidding process for the business is expected to begin in early 2014, which could spark the interest of additional local and international parties.
