On 26th February cable TV industry shocked, because Hathway Cable & Datacom official Vishal Chauhan was attacked in Gurgaon by unknown assailants.
A spate of violence has swept the cable TV industry in recent times. Earlier on 5th February, a firing incident took place in Amritsar between Fastway Transmission distributor and cable operators over billing and revenue.
Jagdish Kumar MD and CEO of Hathway Cable & Datacom, condemn the incident, and stated that government should intervene and protect the professionals of the cable TV industry from such attacks in future.
The MSO Alliance, comprising national MSOs like Hathway, Siti Cable, DEN and IMCL, has also condemned the attack. The alliance also asserted that such attacks would not prevent the MSOs from implementing digital addressable system (DAS) as mandated by the government.
