CQ-Channels use doctored videos may face action

The Union Home Ministry has taken note of an old footage of clashes aired by a local television channel in Assam a couple of days ago. Following an inquiry, the Ministry may step in to recommend action against the broadcaster.
In the wake of the recent spate of violence along the Assam-Nagaland boundary, the Ministry of Home Affairs has been constantly reviewing the ground situation.

Given that doctored videos with inflammatory contents were circulated on the Internet following clashes in Assam about two years ago, the Central government has taken the “old footage” issue seriously.
