Digicable DAS registration cancelled by MIB

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has cancelled the permanent and provisional registration for digital addressable system of Digicable Network. Registration has been cancelled for denial of security clearance by ministry of Home Affairs.
Digicable was granted permanent registration on March 6, 2013 for NCT of Delhi, Municipal Council of Greater Mumbai and Kolkata. MIB had granted provisional licence for phase II cities on March 28, 2013.
It is mandatory for every MSO willing to operate a Digital Addressable System (DAS) to security clearance from MHA.  J S Kohli, MD, Digicable said the MSO will approach the court against cancellation which he feels is very unjust, especially when the MSO is operating since many years serving millions of subscribers through hundreds of LCOs.
Until recently, MIB has revoked over 20 permanent registrations of MSOs. Out of those 20 MSOs – Kal Cables, Intermedia Cable Communications, Godfather Communication and DigiCablecomm Services have got stay on the cancellation orders.
