Maha Movie, a 24X7 Free to Air (FTA) Hindi movie channel with the punch line of Movie ka Keeda is the latest entry in the Hindi movie genre. Promoters claim it will fulfill entertainment needs of not only the urban audience but the largely untouched rural audience as well.
Maha Movie is entering the highly competitive Hindi movie genre, which has well-established players such as Star Gold, Zee Cinema, Max, and Movies OK, among others.
Sanjay Verma, CEO, Maha Movie, is unfurled by the competition as he shared, “The concept behind launching a new movie channel is that every individual love to watch movies and Indians are fond of movies. Every movie clearly shows how diverse Indian culture is, and it is the great entertainment source for viewers. Though there are other players in the market, and we are creating a bank of movies and promoting appointment viewing amongst our target viewers.”
DV Group owner’s, Darshan Singh and Vishvajeet Sharma said ‘The programming of channel is designed to suit the cultural and traditional moods of the masses and the classes. The factor of continuous film entertainment and the theatre like feel makes Maha Movie the channel of choice of vast majority of films enthusiasts.
They also disclose that the channel features mystery, western and family-friendly movies and mini-series mainly from the Maha Movie Channel library. We are now focusing to expand reach of channel even to the remote areas of the country. The channel’s USP is summed up by the brand tagline ‘Movie Ka Keeda’ they explained, “The tagline relates to the fact that on Maha Movie, every individual has some filmi keeda to be watched.
Right now Maha Movie channel is available only on analogue networks and beam from Intelsat-20 satellite. It has distributed 1000 set-top boxes to analogue operators. Channel will show Hindi blockbusters from the yesteryears superstars to today’s stars. The channel will also be available on all the major DTH service providers. The channel will also be accessible on the cable network to reach out to a larger audience base.
