Service providers in Telecom Industry have long struggled to control operational costs and increase the speed of service delivery. Incremental networking technology cost reduction and marginal service delivery improvements have not led to dramatic cost savings or improved time to service launch. In fact, the exponential growth of function-specific networking devices in the past decade made matters worse.
SDN & NFV both promise hardware vendor independence, improved operational efficiency, standardized and open interfaces and the dynamic chaining of network functions to create new services. While potentially bringing disruptive benefits to the networking industry, these technologies also come with their own sets of challenges. Key among these is service orchestration and management in particular when legacy network architectures are to be part of a hybrid service delivery solution.
To bring home the point Trade Commission, Embassy of France in India and UBIqube Solutions of France jointly organised a seminar on ‘Reinventing Network and Security Orchestration in a world migrating to SDN and NFV’, on 18 November 2014 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. The Seminar was well attended by professionals from the telecom industry.
A white paper on ‘Adaptable Orchestration Framework for Seamless Service Fulfilment’, researched and written by Heavy Reading for UBIquest was presented to the delegates, Speakers at the seminar included Mr Nabil Souli, Chairman and CEO of UBIqube Solutions, Mr Flerve Guesdon- VP of engineering and CTO and Mr Rama Murthy – industry consultant.
