TRAI releases Consultation Paper on 'Reserve Price for auction of FM Radio channels in New Cities'

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has on 6 February released a Consultation Paper on ‘Reserve Price for auction of FM Radio channels in New Cities'.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) sent a reference dated 16th December 2015 to the Authority, seeking recommendation of TRAI on reserve price for 831 FM Radio channels in 268 new cities in the Phase-III. With this the private FM Radio operations would be permissible in 350 cities.
Accordingly, this Consultation Paper (CP) has been prepared to seek the comments/views of the stakeholders on the issue related to estimation of the reserve price for auction of FM Radio channels in new cities.
Stakeholders have been requested to offer their comments/views latest by 25th February 2015. The comments may be sent, preferably in electronic form on the email: sksinghal@trai.gov.in or vk.agarwal@trai.gov.in.
