The Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd (BECIL) has been asked by Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) to audit Amritsar based MSO God Father Communication’s headend at its own cost and to submit report within in three weeks from the date of receipt of the order, on whether MSO’s system is compliant with statutory norms or not.
TDSAT in its order said, “Under the circumstances, the proper course would be to ask BECIL to make an audit of the petitioner’s headend and to submit a report as to whether or not the petitioner’s system is compliant with the statutory norms.”
IndiaCast UTV had conducted two audits of MSO’s headend and found that the MSO was non-compliant with the statutory norms while Vikram Singh, a counsel of God Father disputed the correctness of the audit reports.
No broadcaster is giving its content to God Father Communication on the excuse that its headend does not comply with the TRAI regulations. As its business has not taken off, the TDSAT asked BECIL to bear the cost of the audit.
The hearing of this matter has been scheduled on 18 May.
