Apple to acquire Shazam: Report

The smartphone major Apple may soon buy Shazam, the popular song recognition app. This will help Apple to compete with streaming leader Spotify.  Shazam was founded in 1999 and has been offering cutting edge high-tech solution to listeners' issue over not recognizing music on the radio or in bars, letting users identify songs through their phones' microphones.


The London based Shazam has one billion downloads on smartphones till last year. Shazam also faces stiff competition with SoundHound.
