Google chief wants Google to return to China

The search engine giant Google was closed in China in 2010 and Gmail, Youtube and all Google products were banned afterward. Now Indian born Google chief Sunder Pichai is leading a strong case to convince Chinese’s government to allow Google in its land.

Google ban helped Chinese firms like Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu and JD.com to emerge as the most powerful players in China.

As a matter of fact, China recently removed the ban on Google translation services, while Google is working fine in Hong Kong.

Pichai said that Google is already helping Chinese companies gain global access. He said: "A lot of work Google does is to help Chinese companies."

Pichai was saying this during a state-run global internet conference at the Chinese city of Wuzen. The conference was also addressed by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Pichai added, "Many small and medium-sized businesses in China take advantage of Google to get their products to many other countries outside of China."
