Zee launches its digital entertainment platform ‘ZEE5’

The media group Zee has launched a new digital entertainment platform, ZEE5. It offers viewers both, on-demand and live content. It comes packed with 1,00,000 hours of on-demand content that includes originals, Indian and international movies and TV shows, plays, music, and health and lifestyle videos. All the 90 channels of ZEE Network will also be available on the app. Most importantly, viewers can watch content across genres in 12 languages.

Amit Goenka, CEO, ZEE International and Z5 Global, said: "ZEE turned 25 recently. Who would have thought that from a single channel it will grow into a media and entertainment conglomerate? As a young 25-year-old, we are hungry for the next adventure. With the launch of ZEE5, an OTT content app for movies, TV shows, etc, we see ourselves catapulting into the next phase of growth. The digital space is evolving at a fast pace and by 2021, 76 per cent of the traffic will be consumed by video content.”

He added: “Personal user experience will drive our programming schedule — what to watch, when to watch, etc. Every aspect of ZEE5 is based on our deep understanding of our consumers. ZEE5, while phenomenally easy to use, banks on superbly sophisticated technology to create this ease. It is going to change the way you watch content."
