WION’s Middle East has been launched by ZEE Media Corporation in Qatar and UAE. The English news channel World Is One News (WION) will use Etisalat to telecast its content in these two countries. The channel will also be available on Du &Ooredoo.
According to Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra, “After a successful start in India, WION is gearing up to bring world-class journalism to the people of UAE & Qatar who have long been waiting for a global network from India.”
WION is already available in Australia on over the top (OTT) platform YuppTV. Zee is expected to launch it on other platforms in Australia and New Zealand. WION also covers seven African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Botswana & Rwanda.
The future expansion plan includes launching it in other South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.
