ETV branded general news channels including ETV Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh, ETV Urdu, ETV Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand, ETV Rajasthan, ETV Bihar/Jharkhand, ETV News Bangla, ETV News Odia, ETV News Kannada, and ETV News Gujarati have been rebranded by TV18 into News18 brand.
The new names of the channels will be: News18 Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand, News 18 Urdu, News18 Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh, News18 Rajasthan, News18 Bihar/Jharkhand, News18 Bangla, News18 Odia, News18 Kannada, and News18 Gujarati.
The ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB) gave its approval to rebrand the channels in 2017.
Network18 president strategy, product & alliances Avinash Kaul said: “After almost 2 years, the journey of rebranding our general news portfolio of 16 channels is complete today.”
News18 Network has now 16 news channels across 15 languages under its belt. The network has 1200+ reporters and around 67 crore viewers.
