Puducherry MSOs & LCOs asked to stop transmitting analogue signals from 30 April

On 18 April, the multi system operators (MSOs) and local cable operators (LCOs) of Puducherry were asked by the government to stop transmitting analogue signals from 30 April.


The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management said in the memorandum to the MSOs and LCOs: “Further, it is also instructed all the Multi System Operators and cable TV operators shall transmit only through digital addressable system mode and completely desist transmission through analogue mode on or before 30.04.2018 in Puducherry and Oulgaret Municipal limits.”

The order said: “Signals have to be transmitted only through digital mode from 30 April.”

The authorised officers were also asked to ensure compliance of the order and take action against the violation as per the provisions of the Cable TV Networks Regulation Act 1995.
