News agency ANI Media upgrades its LiveU fleet with LiveU’s flagship LU600 HEVC units

The entire LiveU fleet of the News agency Asian News International (ANI) has been replaced with LiveU’s flagship LU600 HEVC units for global newsgathering and live sports coverage.

Till now, the news agency has been using LiveU tech which is spread all over India. The project has been overseen by LiveU’s partner in India, Lamhas Satellite Services, which provides onsite service and support nationwide.

Ishaan Prakash, Editor at ANI Live Service, said, “We’ve been using LiveU exclusively for years with close support from LiveU and its local partner, Lamhas. When we looked into upgrading our equipment, LiveU’s LU600 HEVC was our first choice, offering the highest quality solution available today. We’re deploying these units around the country, giving us the flexibility to cover top news stories wherever they break.”

In 2011, the news agency started using LiveU, and was a pioneer in moving its newsgathering to cellular bonding technology. The leading news agency uses LiveU for breaking and developing news, around the country and abroad. In 2014, LiveU was used widely for ANI’s Indian general election coverage, covering the campaign and Election Day itself.

The selection of LU600 HEVC was done after extensive testing due to its high video performance and reliability combined with its proven ability to support high-quality broadcasting at a low bandwidth.
